A Scalable

Systems-Oriented Business Approach.

  • SFC is creating environments to enable the mass adoption of modern technology. By organizing communities, offering consistent training, and providing access to resources through financing and infrastructure, technology can proliferate. Modern technology is incorporated into various components of the business as SFC is working to connect groundbreaking technology with all aspects of city and farm development. Relevant areas of technology in Small Farm Cities include AgTech, PropTech, FinTech, and more.

  • By integrating advanced technology with proven agricultural best practices, Small Farm Cities is unlocking modern farming technology and maximizing productivity per square meter. Greenhouses, digital monitoring systems, and a rigorously tested growing regiment are used to maximize yields, mitigate risks, and limit wastage.

  • Fish are most efficient converters of protein and so are viable candidates for addressing food insecurity in Malawi and the continent. Each fish pond is outfitted with proper aeration, water quality monitoring, and rigorously designed feed regiment to ensure quick growth.

  • A distinguishing feature of Small Farm Cities is its residential component. Employees live in custom-built homes and are on track to become the owners of these homes. We believe investing in a home within a growing community is an essential element to employees and city residents’ moving forward.

SFC uses innovative approaches to create low cost, high quality homes. For example, bricks are fabricated on-site from the dirt dug out from fish ponds. Different housing models are available for various budgets and scenarios, including student housing, starter houses, family housing, duplexes, and more.

  • Small Farm Cities are complete with municipal water systems, electricity, waste management, and recreational amenities. Clusters are built on properly titled land, which enable residents to benefit from legal, financial, and governance structures.

As a first mover investment that builds its own infrastructure (solar power, bore hole water, municipal waste management and recycling/composting), Small Farm Cities serves to organize and formalize the land it operates on, as well as the surrounding communities. With SFC in place, many other businesses can benefit and build on our work.

SFC offers a path to mass adoption of renewable energy.

A Pathway for Upward Mobility

Small Farm Cities provides employees with a multiple streams of income that allow them to generate and store value. Along with a competitive income, employees qualify for continued education and professional development opportunities and work their way into home ownership through a mortgage program.

An Integrated Approach

Small Farm Cities combines modern farming technology with residential living, all built upon proper financial accountability, legal standing, and business viability.

By integrating hyper-efficient production farming with housing and recreational activities, SFC optimizes the amount of land required for people to live, work, eat and have fun.

In agriculture, the SFC method is proven to produce 12x the amount of tomatoes per hectare compared to open field tomato farming in Malawi. We have grown and sold over 100 tons of tomatoes to date.
